Unknown Children These four children appear on a Cabinet Print from the American Studio which operated from 107a Bold Street Liverpool. The Gores Trade Directory for Liverpool lists an American Studio opeating in Liverpool around 1898. It seems that Victorian photgraphers were very fond of this style of photo where they would pose a child with various props such as the tennis racket.	Unknown Infant This very grainy Cabinet photograph of an unknown infant is from the studios of the Eastbourne Photographic Company who had their studios at 2 The Pavement, Clapham Common in London and operated around 1861.	All Dressed Up This photo would appear to date from around 1900 and is from the studios of Herbert Tear who had a studio at 12 Clapham Road in London. The young boy has been dressed as a soldier no doubt a reflection of the Boor War which took place between 1899 and 1902.
Casualty of War Continuing the Boor War theme from the photo above the two girls dressed as nurses have now been brought into the action.	Top Hat but no Tails This photo is also from the studio of Herbert Tear and would probably have been taken at the same time as the two previous photos from this studio dating to around 1900.	Gypsy Girl This is the last photo I have taken of this group of children by Herbert Frear of Clapham Road, London around 1900. It's possible to see how difficult it was to photograph children at that date. Camera shutter speeds were obviously much slower than modern cameras.If you look at her left foot you can see she has clearly moved !!
Unknown Child This photograph is from the studio of Robert W Morris & Son who had a studio at Cathedral Mount in Chester between about 1893 and 1910.	Young Man This Carte de Visite photograph is from the studio of John Lancaster who operated from Grosvenor Street in Chester around the period 1860 - 1868	Family Group This photo has no studio attributes but based simply on the clothes worn by the children, particularly the boy, I would estimate this to have been taken around 1900. Note how the photgrapher has them all in descending order of height!
Jack & Gwenne I'm still working on who Jack & Gwenne are, however I can say that this photo on a post card is dated between 1902 and 1918. This period can be ascertained with some certainty by the fact that the pre printed postage on the reverse of the card is 1/2 pence (for Inland Use).	Mary Elizabeth Paddy I have included this rather grainy photograph because it comes from well out of the area I have been researching. The clue to the identity of the child might be that the Photographer is Heath & Bullingham of 24 George Street, Plymouth. Trade directories show a William Heath and later Heath & Bullingham operating around the period 1866 - 1883. My Gt Gt Grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Paddy, was born at Devonport in 1859. More research is needed to confirm this identification with any more certainty.	Young Girl This Carte de Visite photograph of a young girl is from the studio of Webster & Son of Bridge Street Row, Chester who were in business around 1874.
Sydney & Vera Holland This picture is of my father Sydney Holland and his sister Vera almost certainly taken at Rhyl or Prestatyn in North Wales. The picture must date to around 1915.	Sydney & Vera Holland I have included this simply because I find the style of clothing so formal for a photograph of children. Definately Sunday best here in a photograph which must be dated about 1918.	Cheeky face This infant was photographed around 1900 at the studios of William Henry Wooliscroft who had his studio at 31 Trentham Road, Longton, Stoke on Trent.
