Jean Dorothy Holland studied to be teacher in physical education. Shemarried Kenneth Barnes (ex Cornwall, England) who was employed on theWitwatersrand Goldmines as amongst others a learner official traininginstructor at Venterspost Gold Mine. They had no children. She diedabt 3 June 1995 in Germiston at the age of 90.

Individual Note:
     Mary Margaret Holland (born 20 May 1914) married Clarence GeorgeStarck (22 May ???), a policeman who was later involved with the dogunit of the SAPS in Pretoria. They helped to care for Bobby Voss, theson of the rich mining magnate, Uncle Bob. Bobby lost his hearing whenhe contracted meningitis at a young age and was never able to speaknormally. The Starcks helped him to manage the farm “The Valley”, abeautiful apple and pear farm in Elgin in the Western Cape that wasowned by Uncle Bob. Mary and Clamps eventually came up to Lyttelton(now Centurion) close to retirement age (in their fifties) when thefarm was sold. Mary worked at the Bureau of Standards in Pretoria andClampie at the SAPS and the army. They retired to Somerset West andare both deceased now.

     Reginald served as a Private (15591) in the Cheshire Regiment in WW1seeing service in France. On 1/2/1923 Reginald travelled to Australiaaboard the SS Baradine. In July 1940 he enlisted in the AustralianArmy as a Private and served briefly in 2/10/Field Company RAE, thenthe 17 Garrison Battalion and was finally discharged in Sept 1944 fromthe 4th Army Trops Royal Australian Engineers on medical grounds.Information on Reginald has been provided by his Grandson WayneReimers
