Individual Note: It should be noted that in William Farrers's MSS in Manchester ArchiveL1/56/1/5 Pages 1 & 2 that Averia is attributed as daughter of Robertson of Richard son of Thurstan de Holland and says he gave part of hisland in Hale to his daughter Averia. Most other sources howeverincluding the Holland's of Mobberley & Knutsford attribute Averia as adaughter of Robert Holland & his wife Elizabeth (Salmesbury).

John de Holland of Hale in 1334 successfully claimed an eighth part ofthe manor of Shevington and lands there and in Wigan against SirRobert de Holland, Gilbert de Haycock and others; but Alice deTunstall in turn made a claim against John and others respecting afree tenement in the same places, and John de Holland was committed tothe Marshalsea; Coram Rege R. 297, m. 93, 69 d. William de Holland ofHale in 1366 leased to Henry son of John son of Henry the Wright ofShevington, Mariona his wife and John and Hugh their sons lands calledGrendillisfield (formerly held by William Witte), Omthull, and Ridges;Standish D. (Mrs. Tempest's abstract), no. 88.
John son and heir of Adam de Bredkirk released to Lawrence de Standishhis right to a moiety of the lands, &c., formerly belonging to WilliamHolland in Shevington; the enrolment is dated 1416; Dep. Keeper's Rep.xxxiii, App. 22.
