Individual Note:
John Sharp was born in Poole Dorset in 1866. His parents were JohnGeorge Thomas Sharp and Phoebe Pitt. His daughter Frances' middle namewas Pitt and I think the P in John's full name probably stands forPitt, as well, although I don't have a copy of his birth certificateso can't be absolutely sure. John George Thomas was a brass and ironmoulder. He was from Poole and Phoebe from Sussex, where they marriedin 1855.They moved their family all over the country, presumably forJohn to find work. In 1861 they were living in Southampton, 1871 inSpittlegate Lincolnshire and 1871 in Chester. John Jr must have endedup in Salford because of his job on the railways. He had two sistersand two brothers, so far as I know. Alma 1856 born in Sussex, George1858, Ann 1859 and Edward David 1861, all born in Southampton. Ibelieve George followed in his father's footsteps and became a brassmoulder. I think he married Ellen Gray in 1879 in Gainsborough,Lincolnshire. I think Edward married Frances H Smith and was living inGrantham in 1881, working as a groom. I haven't been able to traceeither Alma or Ann after 1871.This information on John Sharp has beenprovided by Karen Rice who's 2nd Gt Grandmother Hannah Sharp was thesister of John George Thomas mentioned above.
