Reference 1841 Census Film MF52A, HO107/407 Frame 8, Page 9. Died age77. William Roberts whose name appears on the 1881 Census was theperson reporting the death for the purpose of obtaining a DeathCertificate (see Scrapbook). The Holywell Poor Law Union records for10/11/1854 (G/B/134/278 - Whitford District) show Elizabeth Holland(aged 50) living at Cae Coch with a rent of £4-15-0 per year. It saysher husband died 2 weeks ago after a long illness. Her health wasstated to be "Delicate". She applied for relief for 12 months. Itnoted that her son John aged 17 was apupil teacher at Whitford Schoolwhos wages wages were not sufficient for his own maintenance.Elizabeth was awarded 2/- per week for 12 months. When she reappliedon 1/2 /1856 for continuation of the relief for a further 6 monthsthis was refused as her son John, then aged 19, had received his wagesbeforehand for the next 12 months.

On 3rd March 1854 there was an application to the Holywell Poor LawUnion by Mary Ann's mother Ann Holland for money to purchase a new"Flannel Waistcoat" which was "much needed". A sum of 2/6d wasauthorised to be paid to Mary Ann. Mary Ann was aged 39 and stillliving with her mother in Glol, Whitford at this time. The workhouserecord list her as an "Idiot".

There is an entry in the records of the Workhouse in Hoole, Chesterwhich show that Mary Anne lived there between 5th June 1880 and 27thJuly 1880 at which date she was returned to the Holywell Union. Shewas described as "simple" and destitute.

Mary died in the wokhouse at Holywell reportedly aged 79 (HolywellWorkhouse Death Register G/B/69/1refers).
