The Bishops Transcript for the birth of Owen gives the Mothers name asMary (All in Latin). Yvonne believes this was a mistake by the Vicaras there was no other Owen Holland in Trelawnyd at that time. Thetotal population of Trelawnyd at that time was only about 700 so thisis almost certainly incorrect and should have been Catherine. Yvonneinitially assumed that Joseph had died as an infant as there was norecord in the area of his marriage or death. The discovery of aProbate application to the Bishop of Chester dated 27th August 1802 byJoseph Holland of Llanasaph and his brother John reveals that Josephhad died as a Yeoman Bachelor. Both Joseph and John were recorded asbeing miners. The name of Edward Jones (miner) was also recorded. Itmay be coincidental but Joseph's Grandaughter Mary from his son Johnwas married to an Edward Jones. Although there marriage was sometwenty years after the probate application it may have been thatEdward Jones's father was also Edward and a family friend. Clearlythis is just speculation based on the evidence to hand.
