At the time of the 1881 Census he was listed as a Wheelwright livingat Station Road, Holywell . Richard owned 9 properties at one time.His son David owned the Stag Inn, a betting shop and a chip shop. Hisson was apparently chased by police for suspected theft and fled thecountry to India. Whilst in India he was reported to have shot aservant and then fled once more to New Zealand never to be heard ofagain.
